This started as my own travel problem. I book flights around price, which means living inside Google Flights and the tools built like it, checking the same fare over and over across weeks.

Flight tools hand travellers everything except a decision about whether to book today.
You can watch a fare for weeks and still not know if today is the day. Every tool I looked at, Google Flights included, is built on historical charts and algorithmic predictions, and where alerts exist they are disconnected from what a particular person will pay.
Solution
Prediction was the wrong job. People needed a number they set themselves.
You set a price range on a route, the system watches it, and the alert is worded as a prompt to plan rather than a figure to read. Around that I built a live flight path view and a pilot-seat perspective, so waiting looks like being in transit.
result
There is nothing left to interpret, so the waiting stops being work.
Tracking became a system that acts instead of a loop you run every morning. The flight path view gives the wait something to be. Reframing the problem separated this from the tools that compete on features.
A forecast asks you to keep watching. A threshold lets you stop.
